typing is hard without the letter “r”
look what they sell at urban outfitters now….SLAVE BRACELETS!
i called that shit.
homemade mac and cheese
homemade garlic/rosemary/hot pepper focaccia bread
AND homemade carrot cake (pictured above…duh)
until i realized that someone stole money from my wallet while i was at work.
my mac got fixed for free because of some recalled part that was bound to wig out at some point, that’s on you apple mofos.
i found clarks wallabees for $20 at a 4th of july sale in an outlet mall, the only pair were my size, if that’s not fate i don’t know what is
i only spent two hours at the DMV registering my car
my rhode island car insurance policy ended up lower than my original quote
our remaining kitten is not going to die, as previously assumed
we got an AC for the bedroom
the kid i HATE on so you think you can dance got some injury, so now i don’t have to worry about him winning, he’s down for the count
I GOT A JOB
apparently i need 3 new tires, which will cost roughly $250, and my car may not pass state inspection without these 3 tires, which puts a real damper on the whole “i just got my car registered in a new state, yay” feeling
i need to purchase black slacks for my new job, and i can’t stand shopping for pants specifically
it’s so fucking hot in our apartment
me and D cannot earn a star ranking in the 150cc cups on mario kart wii for the life of us!!!! and we really want to get the last of the unlockables on the game
money money money, i have no money
out of laziness i have been going long stretches of time without washing my hair
yesterday was our first overcast day, although it did not rain at all, as we had expected. we made it to boyle. it kind of seems like a ghost town. today we drive all the way back down to cork. the long drives are not my favorite.

other than spending an absurd amount of time in the car for the past three days everything is amazing. and beautiful. and there are soooooooo many sheep.
last night there was a wedding reception in our hotel, and we not only got pretty much all of our drinks at the bar for free but we played darts with a man named “tigger” and got to enjoy some drunken irish folk songs being sung by legit drunken irish people.
they know how to party, and since there are only about seven hours of darkness a night, they don’t even realize that they should be sleeping!
seriously, i never knew that here the sun sets at about 10pm, and it stays light until nearly 11pm, and the sun rises around 4:30am.
now i’m in a castle. no joke. and we are touring the ruins at 9pm after dinner.
that picture is from the old jameson distillery. it was actually not as awesome as we all had hoped, they didn’t feed us enough whiskey for free, but overall i guess it was pretty informative.
we are now in the Irish countryside, county Kerry in the town of Killarney to be exact. it took about 4.5 hours to go 200 or so kilometers, and in case you don’t know that is NOT exactly making good time, but the roads in the country are basically sized for one way driving but they are actually supposed to accommodate TWO cars…that’s been fun.
but here we are!
last night we went to the “sports” bar in the hotel we are staying in and encountered some youngsters who were definitely British (Manchester area maybe?) who proceeded to flood the bar with heinous raver music from the jukebox and play pool without any regard for the people around them whom they poked with their pool sticks. they also broke a glass, which the hotel staff was not too happy about.
but the hotel has free WIFI!!!!!
the hotel in Dublin had a community computer and no wifi, and subsequently blocked tumblr as a website because of something on thedailywhat. links to naked pictures of ladies no doubt!
anyhow, the whiskey is flowing and so is the Guinness, and the ACCENTS…oh sweet jesus the accents!
but no one believes in ice here…or fans.
we’ve eaten at two different restaurants in downtown Dublin and neither of our servers were Irish.
one was Australian and one was French.
oh and people are really into the world cup and all, but can a girl please find a place to watch fucking GAME 7?! i might have to resort to going to the hard rock cafe, and that is not something i will give in to very easily.
left on this £2 internet excursion in the Mercer hotel in Dublin.
we made it. we’re fucking tired as shit. the man in the aisle seat who controlled our fate on the plane not only had parkinson’s (i’m not assuming, it actually was the first thing he told me, other than his name) but he also REEKED of B.O.
to be continued
this weekend has been rough. since friday night, our littlest kitten bert had been sick. his problems which have remained undiagnosed were clearly not getting any better with the medicine we were trying.
he was just too little, too much of a runt.
so we made the decision to put him to sleep. i know it was the right decision because he would’ve just struggled his whole life with the same problems.
but i am very sad he is gone, sweet little thing. i held him in my arms ‘til he went to sleep.
bye bye bertie, you were loved.
